How much do you plan to tip the building staff this year?

This Midtown studio, 45 West 54th St., #2D, has lots to recommend it, including a recent renovation that created an open, high-end kitchen aimed at entertaining. There's also a space-saving Murphy bed, a built-in media center, and a separate dressing area.

And the price is a plus, too. The unit is listed for $575,000—that's under the $600,000 median asking price for a studio in the neighborhood, according to StreetEasy.

Enter the apartment through a marble foyer with two walk-in closets on either side of the front door.

The living area has room for a good-sized seating area with a couch and a coffee table, a custom Queen-sized Murphy bed with decorative shelving, matching custom millwork under the windows to hide the HVAC, wood floors, and a built-in media center. There are also three double-paned casement windows that should help keep the apartment quiet—something that’s especially important in a neighborhood as loud as Midtown.

Just off the living room is the windowed kitchen, a striking open space that has granite countertops, high-gloss oak cabinets, a mosaic onyx tile floor, and a peninsula that seats two and can be used for extra storage. The only problem with this kitchen is the fact that it doesn’t have a full-sized fridge—just a small under-counter one. Serious cooks will likely be put off by that.

A dressing room leads to the bathroom with a glass-walled shower and bathtub, built-in storage and shelving, and tan tiles on the walls and floors.

The studio is located in The Aristocrat, a full-service boutique co-op building with a 24-hour doorman, elevator, newly renovated lobby, resident storage, bike storage, and a parking garage next door. Pieds-à-terre as permitted, as are parents buying for their children, and co-purchasing. Pets must be approved by the board. Maintenance is $1,229 a month.
