Maybe it's the warm weather, the holiday weekend last week, or the fact that this week the theme on Brick is vacation, but we're really jonesing for a country house right about now. And we certainly wouldn't mind this five bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath sitting on six acres of land in Woodstock.
The Tudor-style house is super charming on both the outside and the inside, and it has English-style gardens, walking paths galore, and mountain and woods views, not to mention an extra house with space to rent out.
Inside, there's a newly renovated kitchen (with a large walk-in pantry—a dream for New Yorkers used to zero pantries), dining room with space for a large farmhouse table, and a working fireplace in the living room. The cozy office space has beautiful mountain views, too.
On the more practical side, there's also new central heating, central air-conditioning upstairs, and new insulated windows throughout the house.
In addition to the main house (which has three out of the five bedrooms), there are two residential units in a converted garage that could be rented full- or part-time, if you want to make a little money off the property.
Plus, it's just a mile from the Woodstock's village green, where outdoor theater and music events often take place. During the winter, skiing is about 40 minutes away at Belleayre or Hunter. The house is just under two hours from the city (the best country house distance, if you ask us).
And at $589,000 it'll cost you $110,000 less than the median one-bedroom co-op in Manhattan—with a lot more greenspace.
