It may be hard to believe, but there are, in fact, still vacation houses available for those who've left it all to the last minute for Labor Day weekend. And this Fire Island house located in Ocean Bay Park, renting for $1,210 a night (or $395 a night during the week), could be just the place to say farewell to the summer. Between last night and this morning, the owners dropped the price by 10 percent for the holiday weekend, which comes out to about $1,090 a night.

With four bedrooms and two baths, the house sleeps up to 10 people. There are two bedrooms with queen beds, and two other rooms, each with three twins.

The property is a five-minute walk to the beach and features a south-facing deck for eating al fresco (an outdoor table seats six). Inside, you'll find newly renovated bathrooms, a kitchen redone for the 2017 season, and the accoutrements you'll need to cook for a crowd. The rental also includes a new barbecue, fresh towels, wifi, air conditioning, and a washer/dryer. There's also an outdoor shower for spraying the sand off.

Get there by hopping the ferry from Bay Shore, which will land you in the Ocean Bay Park commercial area. There you'll find a restaurant for bayside dining, pizza and ice cream shops and a shop to get last-minute groceries and essentials. You can even bring your pet along, although an additional deposit will be required.
